We both earned Master's degrees in Sculpture. Garrett at the University of Kentucky and Teresa at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Here we're putting a mold together to be poured. That's Nick with the camera!
I sculpt in clay or wax, make a mold, then cast in iron, bronze, or aluminum. A lot of my work also incorporates found materials that help to convey a specific idea. Often those ideas involve empowering women or raising awareness around social issues.
Having trained in traditional figurative sculpture and foundry work, I have branched out to using a greater variety of processes and materials. I often use detritus and scraps from the environment I inhabit at a particular time. This influences the forms I create.
